Our God is Healer!
Sometimes God heals on the spot, and then other times, God heals over a period of time. He will lovingly take us by the hand and walks us through hard moments that ultimately lead to healing. Healing in our minds, and souls, even healing in our physical bodies. Our God is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals us! Healer is just one facet of His character. When God walks us through the process of emotional healing, also referred to as inner healing, He is teaching us how to trust Him in hardships as we abide deeper in His love.
He walks with us.
I’ve experienced both on the spot healing, and I’m currently walking through the process of supernatural healing in my body and healing in my mind. God’s glory shines bright in BOTH situations, because John 12:32 tells us as we lift up Jesus, He is drawing all men to Himself!
I have been on a journey of a lifetime this past year. God has been healing my heart, healing my perspective, and healing is taking place in my body. God is even leading me through healing in my relationships. Sometimes when life feel like its falling apart, God is really putting back together.
Piece-By-Piece.
God is tenderly walking me through this healing process, one step at a time. And as I follow the Holy Spirit’s leading, He is teaching me, quite systematically, how to reject fear in its many forms.
Inner healing for me, started as an “unraveling” of the lies I’ve had rehearsed in my mind since I was a child. Lies the enemy had told me at a very young age caused me to grow up believing wrong things about myself. All that God already said about me in His Word was being overshadowed by the lies of the enemy.
God wants us to believe before we see.
Now God is opening my eyes to His truths like never before because He has given me a new perspective that “sees” before I receive. That is, God is giving me freedom in believing His ways without doubting. Overthinking arguments in our mind can and will be put to rest when doubt is crushed!
I don’t admit to having it all together (or having anything completely “all together” for that matter. (That would literally be contrary to what I am sharing with you now). But I will say that I am growing in a place that I have been hindered in for the greater majority of my life. I praise Jesus for His continued work in my life, and that my God isn’t finished with me yet!
This is who God is!!!
He is the God who saves, and heals, and sets free, and redeems lives from destruction!
I read in Habakkuk this morning, and it really put into perspective God’s FAITHFULNESS to work in my life despite what the outward circumstances are shouting at me. I choose to believe His words of truth!
“Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Habakkuk 3:17-19 (NKJV)
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stallsβ
YET I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.
The Lord God is my strength;
He will make my feet like deerβs feet,
And He will make me walk on my high hills…”
That scripture passage was looking pretty depressing before FAITH was added to the equation.
“β¦YET I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD⦔
Oh God, let this be the resting place our weary souls find its rest. May we rejoice in the Lord our God, even when life beats us down, because we know that God is our source of strength. What we are incapable of accomplishing, God is willing and able to do with perfection — through us!
The truth is, I can relate to this passage in Habakkuk. I relate to feeling like failure was the norm, despite believing that God has called me to be an overcomer through Him.
Even though I was 100% confident that my soul prospered in Christ, I was unable to believe that God could successfully work THROUGH me. Now I know that is a lie straight out of hell itself.
The fear that I had experienced so weightily had lied to me.
Being overcome by fear for so long had caused me to unknowingly doubt God’s character.
But God who is rich in mercy..
BUT GOD, WHO IS RICH IN MERCY.. also comes to give LIFE, and that more abundantly!!
John 10:10, Jesus tells us, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
The only thing greater than my fear, was my CONVICTION.
A conviction of Truth!
An unyielding conviction that God is who He says He is!
And a conviction that God is strong in the midst of my weaknesses!
I would have crippled under the weight of the fear that tormented me if it had not been for God giving me a measure of Faith, and for Him showing me His nearness in the midst of trouble. I know where to run to when I am overwhelmed. JESUS IS MY STRONGTOWER!!
Where do you run to in hard times?
In this time, we get to learn how to remain steadfast in keeping faith in Gods promises. When we make Jesus the object of our faith, we find the strength to believe God against all odds. With our hand in His, we cannot not fail.
I pray this encourages you to look to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. (See Hebrews 12:2)
I pray this stirs your spirit to call on Jesus, who according to Hebrews 7:25, ever lives to make intercession for each of us. How encouraging to know that Jesus is praying for us!
I pray this reminds you that God is for you, even in the midst of heartache and hardships that we can’t control or even understand. God sees you and He is showing you that He is strong to save and able to heal.
God might not chose to heal us with one touch, as we know He can.. but don’t allow that to cause you to question whether or not He is working. Even when we don’t see it, God is working!
Piece-By-Piece, God is healing and restoring all that has been lost or stolen from His Children! In Jesus name!
In that process of emotional healing, as messy as it can be, is beautiful because God is teaching us how to abide even deeper into His Perfect Love that casts out fear. For His glory and for our good! We were created to SHINE in Christ Jesus!!!
